A Caregiver’s Guide for Medicare Beneficiaries
A Caregiver’s Guide
As a caregiver, navigating the ins and outs of government health care programs can be challenging.
If you are taking a greater role in someone’s medical care, you are facing many difficult decisions, and may need help with one of the most important aspects of a person’s life; health care.
Bravo Health can provide the assistance you need by guiding you through the Medicare process, and making sure your loved one receives the benefits to support the quality of life they are entitled to.
What is Original Medicare?
The Original Medicare plan is a federally funded health plan that pays for many health care services and supplies.
It may not cover all of your health care needs and there are costs that you must pay, such as coinsurance, copayments, and deductibles.
What are Medicare Advantage plans?
Medicare Advantage plans are health plans that contract with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and run by private companies.
Medicare Beneficiaries are often attracted to Medicare Advantage plans because they offer broader benefits than Original Medicare, and often times with low or no premiums.
Medicare Advantage plans, such as some of those offered by Bravo Health, also provide extra benefits that go beyond the benefits of Original Medicare including:
-
Routine eye exams and coverage for glasses and contacts (Original Medicare covers glasses or contacts after cataract surgery)
-
Coverage for a variety of dental plans
-
Routine hearing exams and hearing aid coverage
-
Transportation to and from doctor visits
If you and your loved one decide to join a Medicare Advantage plan, your loved one will still keep all of their Medicare rights and protections and Original Medicare covered services.
